The Grumman A-6 Intruder was a carrier-based twin jet-engine all-weather attack aircraft operated by the US Navy and Marine Corps between 1963 and 1997. Intruders first saw action during the Vietnam War, where the aircraft's long range, heavy payload and ability to fly in all-weather made it invaluable.
The VA-52 Knightriders operated Intruders from 1967 to 1994 and became the most decorated Intruder Squadron during the Vietnam War. This model replicates the aircraft on display in the Museum of Flight's Aviation Pavilion. Read more about our Grumman A-6 Intruder.
