The Grumman F4F Wildcat was the frontline Navy and Marine fighter entering WWII. The Grumman was a rugged and heavilly armed fighter that was able to hold its own against the faster and more agile Japanese Zero fighter. Later versions were produced under license by General Motors (FM-2) and the Wildcat continued to serve throughout WWII.
