The Lockheed C-130 named "Fat Albert" became the support aircraft for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration team in 1970 and has been serving ever since. Although "Fat Albert" supports a Navy squadron, it is operated by the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and its crew consists solely of USMC personnel. This year Captain Katie Higgins will pilot "Fat Albert," becoming the first woman pilot to fly with the Blue Angels in their 69 year history.
There have been many C-130's fulfilling the role of "Fat Albert" over the years.
This new 1/150 scale model from SkyMarks represents the very aircraft Capt. Higgins will be flying, U.S. Marine Corps C-130T (# 164763). This snap fit model is made from injection molded plastic and features an authentic paint scheme with pad printed details. The fuselage is solid and the wings, tail and propellers easily snap together. Display stand as shown included.
